Apple IMac MB418LL/A 24-Inch Desktop - A Quick Review

The Apple iMac MB418LL/A 24- inch desktop is unique in design. Unlike the conventional desktop designs that we have got used to, the iMac's casing is made from a single piece of aluminum. The monitor, DVD drive, RAM, CPU, hard drive, graphic card and sound card are all bundle into one, like all all-in-one desktops. This gives the whole unit a simple and neat appearance. Another neat features it the ultra-thin aluminum keyboard. It compliments the screen perfectly.

This Apple iMac MB418LL/A 24-inch desktop has a 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. It also gets a boost in video processing power from the NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics chip with 256 MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory. What got me interested in it is the whopping 640GB hard drive. That is so much storage that someone like me would never be able to fully utilize it, even after a coupe of years of use. Besides that it also has 4 GB of RAM (with an 8 GB maximum capacity), a 8x SuperDrive for burning movies to DVD and music mixes to CD, integrated 802.11n wireless LAN, Gigabit Ethernet wired networking, and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity.

Another great selling point is that the Apple iMac MB418LL/A 24- inch desktop is quite environmental friendly. The engineers and designers did their part by removing toxins found in computers and through the use of arsenic-free display glass for the screen. The iMac is also by far one of the most user-friendly computers around. Some f the other features that makes this iMac worthwhile aside from its pricey price tag is the whopping storage space, speed, sizzling graphics and gorgeous design. If you have the cash to spare, and you are in the market for a high-end, stylish desktop, I would definitely recommend the Apple iMac MB418LL/A 24- inch desktop.

Access Data Source C Sharp Solutions

Having employed the Access Data Source for a while has led me to the conclusion for most all my data connectivity needs the ADS can fill the bill for Microsoft Access Databases. Normal use and query building should be performed as usual in the visual designer. The obscured feature such as using a combination of events and the functions exposed allows a plethora of data solution possibilities. Did you know that a data reader is available to event? Not only is a data reader available but many of the functions we are comfortable with in the object linking database (OLEDB) are also available within the selected event. All data access and desired results are available through exposed events that use the SqlDataSourceStatusEventArgs.

To illustrate you could bind the executio of a query to any control. Before invoking the execution (via a control) place code inside the OnSelecting event for the data source to gain full access of the associated commands (e.Command.Connection.Open opens a connection to the data control). The e.Command.Parameters[0].Value exposed values to all parameters. Simply change the value between the brackets to to the respective parameter index and affect the value of the associated parameter. Session variables, cookie values and temporary storage can be used with the Convert function to get the raw information to the appropriate format for the parameter. The e.Command.CommandText property may be changed to establish a new query otherwise the existion query will be used. Now we are prepared to invoke the datareader. The main difference in this scenario is we use the System.Data.Common.DbDataReader object as opposed to System.Data.OleDb.OleDbDataReader object.

The reader usees identical read features and data retrieval features s of the OLEDB scenarios. We simple place the reader to the first record and process the fields. In typical fashion we could employ the While condition is true looping feature to process all the records retrieved by the data reader. When our pricessing is complete simply close the data reader followed by closing the connection.

Using the access data source in this manner allows us to leverage data access functionality and minimize the number of objects we need yielding tight fast execution code.

Electronic Medical Record Implementation

EMR system implementation will increase over the next five years due to direct pressure from the United States government. A majority of health care providers are expected to be using some type of EMR system by 2014. As physicians become aware of EMR benefits, more clinics and hospitals will convert to a paperless system. The small percentage of health providers that have already made this change will agree that picking the wrong system, or choosing a system that is under supported can be catastrophic.

Finding an EMR system and understanding what it can provide is a confusing process. Knowing what your EMR system needs to be capable of will allow you to start identifying possible solutions. Good companies will let you demo their software. The company should offer template modification for a fee so their EMR is customized for your practice. Primary care providers typically have the easiest time finding a system to fit their needs because of their generic nature. There are many EMR systems that come tailored just for this type of environment. Practices that specialize in a certain area will have to narrow their search to systems created for that specialty.

It is important to select a system that is well supported by a strong IT and development team. These teams will make sure that the EMR system will interface with your appointment scheduling system and or billing system. They will be able to create and implement a custom interface for your EMR system so that it will work with your other systems. The IT team will let you know if local servers are needed in all practice locations so that there is not a decrease in system speed from remote sites. The vendor of the software will need to offer all of these premium support services in order for your EMR to be a success.

Interfaces for the EMR to communicate with other systems in the practice are vital. Your patient process needs to be as automated as possible. If you schedule an appointment with your scheduling software, your EMR software should create the patient record. Entering a diagnosis into the EMR should automatically update your billing system with the treatments prescribed for the patient. The coordination of these systems creates a true paperless environment.

A correctly implemented EMR system will save you time, money, and resources. It will increase your productivity and decrease error rates. The system will allow you to manage not just your practice, but the needs of your patients.

H.264 Defined

Video signals can require enormous capacity for transport and storage. For these reasons, video signals are almost always processed to reduce the signal's size. This is called "video signal compression" (VSC).

Video is a series of still images called frames, that when viewed at a high enough rate, achieves the illusion of motion. VSC achieves a high compression rate by saving only the changes from one frame to the next, instead of each saving each complete frame. With a well designed computer program, the compression can be achieved with very little distortion.

The satellite TV companies, "The Dish Network", and "DirecTV", were pioneers in the use of signal compression. These companies have used a standard called MPEG-2 (MPEG is short for the "Motion Pictures Expert Group"). Without these techniques, only a fraction of the channels currently possible, could be managed by the existing satellite systems.

Compression has also been applied to audio signals. For example "MP3" is actually an abbreviation for "MPEG Audio layer 3", which is part of an Audio/Video compression program. The MP3 player phenomena would never have happened with signal compression.

MPEG-4 is one of the newer compression methods, designed specifically for efficient video signal compression. MPEG-4 was originally developed for transporting video signals over the Internet, but has found wide success with HDTV signals as well. DivX is an example of an MPEG-4 encoder.

Sony was the first company to commercially introduce H.264 (also known as MPEG-4 Part 10), a more advanced revision of the MPEG-4. Blue-Ray DVD, for example, uses the H.264 standard for storage. This standard has also gained rapid acceptance in the security camera industry. H.264 is 2-3 times more efficient than the MPEG-2 standard.

3 Reasons to Own a Computer

What did we ever do without computers? I am not sure I even remember the time when they didn't exist. Computers rule our world, and most everything we do. Kids as early as the age of three know how to use them and many of us find them indispensable in our daily lives. Yet there are many people that have not yet delved into the technology of the present and future. Some find computers intimidating and unnecessary. Hard to imagine, but true.

The convenience factor cannot be beat and as far as information goes, nothing is faster or more useful than typing a phrase into Google or Yahoo search and getting back thousands of relevant pages full on information. Not to mention the instant communication benefits of email versus regular mail, which is now appropriately termed snail mail. So, in case your still wondering what the benefits of computers are, here is a list which hopefully will prompt you to join us in our computer happy world.

3 Reasons to Own a Computer

1. The first benefit for owning a computer is finding information on the Internet. The Internet was first created during the 1960s for military reasons. However, the Internet started to expand and became widely available for everyone in the 1990s. When users connect to the Internet, they are able to find a lot of information without driving to the library.

The library is a wonderful place for children to learn how to read. However, there are obsolete books and people are required to carry a library card. Also, if people lose their book, then they will be required to pay a fine to the library. Researching on the Internet provides current information every day and people don't have to borrow or pay fines to the library.

2. The second benefit for owning a computer is sending and receiving electronic mail. E-mail services are being paid by banner and sponsored advertising. Therefore, people will be able to send and receive messages for free. Also, e-mail provides fast and speedy service without waiting for the postman.

While the postman is great for receiving large packages, the price for a stamp increases every year. Furthermore, depending on the location, people will have to wait for a reply. By using e-mail, people will be able to receive replies within minutes or the next day at the latest.

3. The third benefit for owning a computer is making new friends. The Internet allows people to use social networking sites to reunite or make new friends. Without using a computer, people won't be able to know where their friends are located. Therefore, people have to rely on the big and bulky telephone book to find information. Also, international friendships are impossible due to currency rates and higher postal fees. As a result, people are unable to learn about different cultures and trends in an international area.

Bits and Bytes - What's the Difference?

In order to understand your Internet connection speed and how your computer stores information, you should start with the most basic measurements of data: bits and bytes. Before you read further, don't forget that a "b" (small case b) is a bit, and "B" (upper case B) is a byte, e.g., kb is kilobit and kB is kilobyte.

A bit (b) is the smallest measurement of data that can be stored or transferred on computers and Internet services. Bits store information based on a binary system of 1's and 0's ("bi" means 2, i.e., 2 numbers, 1 and 0). Bits are arranged and stored in sequences that are translated into words, pictures, etc., when you see them on your computer screen.

When you hear the term "bits", it is usually used to when measure transfer rate, as in downloading from the Internet or an Internet connection speed. For example, "bps" is bits per second, or, the amount of bits that can be downloaded or transferred in a second. When measuring transfer rate for Internet connections, 1 kilobit (kb) = 1000 bits, 1 megabit (mb) = 1000 kilobits. Therefore, if your dial up connection successfully connected at 34.4 kbps, 34.4 kilobits or 34400 bits can be downloaded per second to your computer. If you have a 6000 kbps (or 6 mbps) DSL connection, you can download 6000 kilobits, or 6,000,000 bits per second.

A bit rate is the rate at which a certain number of bits (or kb or mb) can be streamed or downloaded per second. You will usually hear about "bit rates"in relation to audio and video streaming from the Internet. A higher bit rate means that the quality of the streaming will be higher, but it also requires a faster Internet connection to stream in real time. For example, to watch a video that has a bit rate of 240kbps, You would want to have a connection that is at least slightly faster to watch the video without interruptions.

A byte (B) is 8 bits. As you read earlier, bits store information based on a binary system and are arranged and stored in sequences, or bytes. Strings of bytes make up documents, images, commands for your computer, etc. Most sizes of files, programs, and capacities of drives, etc, are measured in bytes, kilobytes, megabytes (megs), and gigabytes (gigs).

When describing capacity, like file size or storage, bytes are measured by the binary system that bits use to store information. Therefore, "kilo" = 1,024 (or, 2^10). A kilobyte (kB) is 1,024 bytes, and a megabyte (mB) is 1,024 kilobytes. A gigabyte (gB) is 1,024 megabytes, etc.

Here are some examples of those numbers in relation to your computer. A typical Microsoft Word document is about 30 kB in size. An image is typically about 100 kB, depending on the size and format. When you save that document or image to your computer, it takes up 30 kB or 100 kB of your computers storage space. A CD typically has about 700 mB (or 716,800 kB) of storage space. Most hard drives on personal computers are now sold with a capacity of 500 gig (or 524,288,000 kB).

To review, 1 byte is 8 bits. An Internet connection (transfer rate, download/upload speed) is measured in bits, and 1 kilobit is 1,000 bits. Storage capacity (drive/disk space and file sizes), it is measured in bytes, and 1 kilobyte is 1,024 bytes.

Latest Computer Technology

Do you know what is inside your computer? Maybe you peeked when the service technician was installing something for you. When you first open up the CPU and look inside, a computer is a very threatening machine. But once you know about the different parts that make up a complete computer it gets a lot easier. Today's computers consist of around eight main components; some of the advanced computers might have a few more components. What are these eight main components and what are they used for? We will start with beginner level details to get you started.

First is the Power Supply. The power supply is used to provide electricity to all of the components in your computer. It is usually a rectangular box and is usually positioned in one of the corners of the computer. To find it for sure, look to see where the power cable plugs into the back of the computer and you have found the power supply. Most power supplies today are calculated in wattage and come in 50 watt increments (500 watt, 550, 600, etc

Second is the Motherboard. All of the components are connected into the motherboard; it doesn't mean that it is the brain of the computer. Yes it holds the brain and helps it act together with all the other components of the machine.

The third and a very important component of a computer is the CPU (Central Processing Unit), Known as the brain of the computer and nothing is going to happen without it. All major calculation performed by a computer are carried out inside its CPU. It is also responsible for activating and controlling the operations of other units of the system. The faster the CPU can do these calculations and give the correct answers, the faster the computer runs for the user. CPUs are now measured in gigahertz (Ghz) and they are at present up to our 3.8GHz or faster

A fourth component is the RAM (Random Access Memory). RAM is used as momentary working storage for the computer. We have different types of RAM memory with different speed, but it should match with your motherboard so that it can work properly. The more RAM you have in your computer, the better your computer will work.

The fifth component is the Hard drive. This is where you can store everything. Our material on the hard drive includes the operating system (Windows XP, etc), games, and different types of software, etc. over the year the capacity of the hard drive is continuously improving and in the interval of few years its capacity have gone from around 20MB to over 500GB and more. So you can store a lot more information on your computer such as games, pictures, videos, applications, and more.

Sixth component is Cooling fans. Often most computers come with one cooling fan or it might have several. Its help to cool down the heat generated by others components, Such as power supply, the CPU, and some high-end video cards. The work of all of your cooling fans is to get this heat out of the case so that nothing overheats and breaks. While most of the noise you hear coming from a computer can be credited to the cooling fans, remember to be tolerant. The cooling fan is your friend!

Our Seventh and final component is the mixture of several different devices. These are the Cd-rom, DVD drives, floppy Drive and Backup devices such as external hard drive.

Why a Computer Takes Time to Boot

Booting is a bootstrapping process that starts operating systems when the user turns on a computer system. A boot sequence is the initial set of operations that the computer performs when power is switched on.
Let's have it in simple words that are "the process of switching on the computer is referred as booting of the computer. The word booting came from the phrase picking somebody up his boot-strap, which is similar to when user switch on the computer."

The disk from which start up or booting is done is called "Bootable Disk". It is the loading of set of programs from the ROM into RAM so that it creates an environment for the execution of commands for further processing.

The boot loader typically loads the main operating system for the computer. In this booting process, some time is consumed by the computer system. But if your computer is taking too long to boot; it means there is some problem in your computer system.

Some of the problems may be:
• Small Hard disk or Less free space on hard disk
• Installation of unused heavy software
• Improper uninstallation of software
• Corrupted System files
• High temperature of computer
• Less RAM etc.

There can be many other problems also, but these are main ones. If your computer is slowing down, i have some steps for Microsoft Windows that help to fast up the booting of your computer.
1. Ensure that there is enough free space available on your hard disk. Minimum free space is at least 500 MB. This free space allows the computer to have room for the swap file to increase in size as well as room for temporary files. You can free the space by cleaning up the hard disk and then deleting temporary and unnecessary files.

2. Run Scandisk at regular intervals to ensure that whether there is any cluster problem on the computer hard disk drive. It also helps to determine physical problems on the hard disk and helps to eliminate these problems.

3. Run Defrag weekly to properly arrange the data in sequence. This helps to reduce access time of computer.

4. Try to find out programs that run at start up. These slow down the processing of computer. Try to remove or disable these start-up programs.

5. Ensure there should be no conflicts in the device manager. If there are some conflicts, try to resolve them.

6. If you are using Windows XP, delete all files in the "prefetch" directory. These are prefetch files and can lower system performance.

7. Run the basic troubleshooting steps for your operating system. Make sure your computer and processor is not overheating, excessive heat can cause a significant decrease in computer performance some processors will even lower the speed of the processor automatically to help compensate for the heat related issues.

8. Scan for viruses; update your antivirus program regularly. Scan if your computer is infected, try to remove viruses as these slow down as well as damage the computer system.

9. Try to repair windows if these steps don't work out.

10. Finally, if these steps won't help you to improve the performance of your computer system, try to format the computer system and reinstall the operating system.

So friends if your computer takes time to boot then try these steps and improve performance of your computer system.

With the popularity of the personal computer rising everyday obtaining some basic technical computer repair skills can be very beneficial. When you first buy your computer it runs extremely smooth but as time goes on and your usage of your computer increases you may begin to notice a change its overall performance.

The power of present day computers is amazing, although they do have their problems and if you don't know how to fix computer errors when they present themselves you can become very inconvenienced. Computers do require regular maintenance and they need to be periodically upgraded and if you fail to keep up with some easy maintenance you will no doubt experience problems. There are a few simple tasks that can be performed to fix computer errors and help prevent them from occurring in the future.

Tips That Will Help You Fix Computer Errors

If your computers registry becomes corrupt or unstable it will dramatically affect your computers performance in a very negative way. You may notice your computer is running extremely slow and your having to wait for programs to open or it takes awhile to switch from web page to web page. If you use your computer for work or school or maybe just to run the family's budget, learning how to fix computer errors when they occur can be extremely beneficial.

When your computers registry has been corrupted you may have error messages popping up on your screen such as "fatal .exe error" or ".dll file error" and these type of errors can cause your system to shut down or freeze up leaving you with a computer that you cannot use. When these type of errors occur it can be extremely frustrating because you may be in the middle of some important work, so if your learn how to fix computer errors such as these you can avoid serious down time.

One of the first steps you should take in efforts to solve your problem would be to run your disk defragmenter. Running the disk defragmenter may reduce the occurrence of errors by condensing all the files in need of repair.

To fix computer errors that are related to your computers registry, you should complete a registry scan so that all the unused, old and unwanted data can be detected and removed. To clean your computers registry you will need to "BUY" a good registry cleaner program. I want to emphasize on the word "Buy" because there are a lot of free registry cleaners available but it's a terrible idea to even try a free registry cleaner. Free registry cleaners will not only just not fix computer errors they will cause damage to your system. When it comes to the free registry cleaners the programmers will put in malicious code and adware and spyware programs that will collect and transmit your personal information and in many cases end up leaving your computer so damaged that it cannot be repaired.

Reg Clean is one of the more advanced registry cleaner programs available as it can perform a variety of preventative maintenance tasks as well as removing malicious spyware and viruses that have infected your registry. When you run a scan with Reg Clean it can fix computer errors as it cleans up your entire registry and it performs a registry backup while it is defragging your system.

There are a number of viruses out there that can really attack your system causing all sorts of problems. Spyware and virus programs can be the cause of a variety of computer errors. They are capable of overwriting program files or deleting necessary file extensions disabling important programs and limiting the functionality of your system. To fix computer errors that are a result of spyware and some viruses you can use updated antispyware and antivirus protection.

Damaged or corrupt programs or virus infections can cause serious damage to your computers boot section, and this will prevent your system from booting up properly or possibly not at all. When you need to fix computer errors related to your system booting up properly you should use your Windows XP Boot CD as this can repair the Windows XP installation which can overwrite computer errors picked up through spyware or viruses.

If the problems that you are having are directly related to your computers memory you will experience some of the following problems; system crashes, system hang or computer freeze, blue screen, constant restarts and crashing software programs. To fix computer errors related to your systems memory there are specific software programs that can help free up some memory space which will help solve RAM related problems. Improving your systems memory which is also known as RAM (random access memory), will improve your computers performance dramatically so I would highly advice you to do a computer memory test. To complete a memory test there is specific software available for such a task, one program that I am aware of that is very effective is called Memtest86, this can help you zero in on your problem allowing you to fix computer errors brought to your attention through the use of the software.

If you have tried all the advice given in this article and your still experiencing computer problems I would do a search on the Internet for information on how to fix computer errors. You will find many websites that focus on computer basics and troubleshooting. I would be very careful though and really check the websites credentials so you can be sure that your getting advice from a reliable and secure source. There is also a software program available that can help you learn how to fix computer errors, but again I would be very cautious about any program that needs to be down loaded and run on your computer. Remember preventative maintenance can save you from a lot of unnecessary problems and one of the best preventative measures you can take is to purchase a reputable registry cleaner program and use it periodically to clean your registry of old, unused, unwanted and damaging data.

Free Trojan Virus Removal Tool Rated

Trojan horse infections have always been a grave threat to computer systems and this is mostly because they were created for the main purpose of allowing third parties and hackers access to any system. These malicious infections which are a form of malware are commonly disguised or concealed as ordinary software on the web but rather infect a computer once downloaded and installed. What separates them from the virus or computer worm is that they do not make copies of themselves but as mentioned above they can give control to hackers who can harmfully modify or remove any content on your operating system. The best protection that one can use against these infections is either a paid or free Trojan virus removal tool which can be found on the web.

So how does this malicious content get into my system and how can I avoid this from happening? The only thing you can really do is be careful and cautious when you download freeware or any piece of software from the internet. Due to the fact that it can be almost impossible to know if a downloaded application is infectious you are advised to scan the program before you install it. Once the application has been installed it's already too late because the Trojan will already have unloaded various malicious scripts and other commands which will have infected other files and system features. Despite the presence of quality free Trojan virus removal tools on the internet a lot of people look for alternative methods which can instruct them how to remove these infections manually.

This can be hard if not impossible because of the great complex nature of these particular infections and that's why you are better off using security software. Unfortunately, finding and choosing a quality free Trojan virus removal tool for your personal computer system can be hard with so many in the market today. I have thoroughly tested many security tools available on the web and can confidently recommend Xoftspyse as the a leading security tool for all home computer users. With a comprehensive signature log that contains more than 280 000 definitions this easy to use program can detect many infections and remove them without hassle.

If you need an all in one security program that can protect your PC against spyware, viruses, malware and Trojans then this is for you.If you would like to download the very latest version of this program you can do so by visiting the link just below.

Download Xoftspyse Here

Finding Car Insurance For New Drivers

Finding car insurance that is affordable as a young person can be extremely difficult. Millions of newly licensed drivers run against this problem every year as their driving history and credit history have not been established, so they appear as an unknown for the car insurance companies and are therefore charged much higher rates than an average driver. This is understandable since teenagers and young drivers are also the source of a good deal of car accidents. Fortunately, it doesn't mean that young drivers are uninsurable, only that it is important to find the best deal and start a safe driving record as soon as possible.

A good number of recurring car accidents are associated with teenagers and young drivers who are not yet good behind the wheel. This creates a financial burden for the insurance companies as well as the other young drivers who have not been in an accident because the insurance companies have to raise their premiums to pay for the problem drivers. This is the main reason why young people have more difficulty finding affordable insurance for their car. Many insurance providers have responded to the need of teenage drivers by creating programs that address a young drivers needs, but they can quickly stretch the family's budget limits.

Many insurance companies have begun to offer a basic car insurance which can be used by young people which can be paid on a monthly basis. This eliminates the need for the new drivers to shell out a large chunk of money at one time. But, it won't mean that the insurance is cheap. Often you can get a discount if you pay for the full six to twelve months, so if your budget allows, it can be worthwhile to pay for the entire year.

The student car insurance program is one of the best insurance options established since it easily addresses all the aspects of the needs of the young drivers who need to be insured. First off, the student program allows the consumers to directly connect the parents or guardians with an established good credit and driving record to the new driver, so that they get some of the benefit which lowers overall premiums. In addition, insuring many cars under the same policy will often create a discount for the family on a per car basis.

As you can imagine, starting out as a new driver can be expensive and the options available to you as a driver are a bit more limited than if you had an established driving record. Don't let this discourage you though because there are insurance policies that can meet your needs and get you on the road. It just takes a little research to find the right one that fits you and your family's needs.

How to Find Cheap Teenager Auto Insurance

Today, teenager auto insurance is expensive, simply because of the statistics involving vehicular accidents and minors behind the wheel. This is the reason why teenager auto insurance is more expensive compared to other insurance. Experienced drivers do not get involved in vehicular accidents, at least not as much as a teenager.

The good news is that not all car insurance companies typecast teenage drivers as accident prone. They just have to check the credibility of the teenager while they are applying for teenager auto insurance.

It is important to note that there are factors determining the cost of car coverage and it helps to know what these are so that you could get a cheaper teenager auto insurance but you can still enjoy the benefits that come along with it.

First and foremost, the teenager must know the responsibilities that come with driving. He must learn the rules and stick to the guidelines to the letter. The best way to lower the cost of teenager auto insurance is to maintain a clean driving record.

If you are reading this and you are a parent, the best way you can do this is to be an example for them. Know the rules and the guidelines then teach these to them. They can also learn just by observing you.

A cheaper way to get teenager auto insurance is to put the teenager in an existing policy. It has been proven to be better then filling up for another application. The teenager can be referred to as the additional driver.

If you opt for this, just make sure that the discounts and the other benefits that are included in your policy can be transferred to your teenager. That is, if it is indicated there that the teenager will get these benefits.

You can also enroll your teenager in driving classes. Teenager auto insurance is cheaper if the individual is applying for it has already had lessons from credible driving schools. You can ask the car insurance provider if they recommend a specific driving school.

It is also important to note that sports cars automatically mean an expensive insurance rate. This is because the driver will be tempted to reach the limit of the vehicle. For car insurance companies, this will mean a high possibility of accidents.

At the same time, a car that has safety equipments means that the driver is very responsible. Car insurance companies will then provide a lower teenager auto insurance for that.

Finally, the teenager can also get brownie points by showing the car insurance companies that he goes to school full time, has a 3.0 average, and is an active member of an association in their community.

Whatever he decides to present to the insurance company, it is very important that he knows the costs of the insurance so that he is aware of how much it's worth.

The First 5 Things to Do If Your Insurance Claim is Denied

If you or your small business has been harmed by a large insurance company or other big organization, there's a good chance strong legal advocacy can help you to make it right.

If the problem is a refusal to pay an insurance claim, the starting point is to recognize the reality is that insurance companies make money when they don't pay claims.

In fact, since the mid-1990s, based on a concerted strategy developed by the McKinsey consulting firm, the insurance industry has developed and implemented an aggressive "three Ds" approach to avoid paying claims - deny... delay... and defend.

First, they almost automatically deny the claim. Second, they do anything possible to delay negotiations. Then third, they vigorously defend against any legal action.

The Insurance Industry's Background
Legal practice experience and information obtained from insurance agents and adjusters make it clear that there's at least some truth in the books and movies that claim there is a "Chapter X" in the insurance claims manual that teaches adjusters how to deny claims.

Although these books and movies are fictional and produced for entertainment purposes, and many legal practitioners have never heard of or experienced a written "Chapter X" for claims denials, it is apparent that insurance companies have "unwritten" guidelines for adjusters to follow.

This is not a conspiracy theory. Rather, it is a reasonable explanation of how an insurance agent makes money, and how an adjuster earns his raises, promotions, and pats on the back for saving the company money. In other words, these individual agents and adjusters are simply trying to look out for themselves.

Everyone does that to a certain extent. The problem with agents and adjusters doing it is they are cheating and breaking the laws that regulate claims handling procedures.

Tactics
Here is a short list of the tactics most often employed by insurance agents and adjusters to bend things in their direction in an insurance claim.

• Forgery - Your signature or initials are actually forged on papers you would have signed in the application process. In Texas, when a person purchases auto insurance, the law requires that the insurance company furnish the person with uninsured/underinsured motorist (UM) benefits. This coverage provides benefits for situations where the insured person (you) have an accident where the other driver is uninsured or the other driver does not have enough insurance to cover the damages. The insurance company is also required by law to provide Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits, which is coverage for medical bills and lost wages. A person who purchases auto insurance in Texas automatically has these two coverages unless the person purchasing the insurance rejects them in writing.

What typically happens is the agent has the person sign the application for insurance but forgets to have the person sign the "rejection of UM and PIP" coverage. Later, when that person is involved in an accident and makes a claim for these benefits, the agent discovers there is a signature on the application but the "rejection" was not signed. So, the agent forges the signature or cuts and pastes with a copier to transpose the application signatures onto the rejection forms.

• 515 Exclusion - Another example in the auto insurance area occurs when a husband and wife buy insurance. The husband might have a previous DWI conviction or too many tickets so that, if he is on the policy with his wife, the rates go too high for them to be able to afford the coverage. So, they purchase the insurance under the wife's name only and sign what is called a "515 exclusion," which provides that if anything happens while the husband is driving the car, there is no insurance coverage.

Some agents will have the "515 exclusion" signed, but avoid putting a name on the form indicating who is excluded. Later, if a claim is made, if the driver is someone other than the named insured, (in this example, the wife) the agent will complete the 515 form with that person's name, saving the company from having to pay any money on the claim.

• Fill-in-the-Blank - An agent helping you prepare an application for auto, homeowners, life, health, or commercial insurance will ask a lot of questions, write your answers on the application form, and then put the form in front of you for signature. What is not obvious is that the agent knows how each of the questions needs to be answered for you to be qualified for coverage. If you answered the agent's question in a way that would have resulted in coverage being rejected, the agent likely ignored what you said and answered in a way that results in coverage being extended. The agent is motivated to complete the sale and earn the commission. The agent also knows that the statistical odds are heavily against a claim being made. However, if you do later file a claim, the agent and the insurance company have created for themselves the option to accuse you of fraud and lying on the application you signed, and using this as grounds for denying your claim.

• Improper Denial - Many policies include paragraphs and clauses that are not legal or legally enforceable. But the general public, including you, typically is not aware of this subterfuge. So if you make a claim, the insurance company will reply to you with a letter citing one or more of the improper clauses or paragraphs as the basis or reason for denying your claim.

Delay
As indicated earlier, what is seen most often from insurance companies is delaying tactics. The purpose of this is to frustrate you into giving up, dropping the claim or accepting less in compensation than you should accept just to get it over with. In other words, they intend to "wear you out."

This is accomplished in several ways. They usually start out with a pleasant manner, although some choose actual rudeness. It starts with the first call. Whether the tone is pleasant or bothered, you have to look past their words and see what happens.

You can expect to see some or all of the more obvious ways of frustrating you.
o Putting you on hold for a long time - they will deliberately do this in hopes you will hang up.
o Your calls to them will only get voice mails, and no immediate return call.
o Transferring your file to different adjusters.
o Giving you incorrect claim number information. Later, when the number you are using does not connect with your case, they can imply you wrote down the wrong claim number.

This will be followed by the less obvious tactics, the ones that make it seem they are trying to get your situation handled but, guess what, not really.

o Mail Dodgeball - You may asked to mail a document of some sort, usually a bill, to substantiate part of the claim. After you mail it and have not heard anything back, when you call they say they have not received it (they really did). You resend the document. Then they ask for another document. Replay previous.

o Never-ending Document Requests - Then, days or weeks later, they ask for another document. After you make sure they've received it, they say "thank you for sending that, now we need..." a form filled out, a report taken, a statement, to talk with a witness, or doctor, or appraiser. More time goes by. Next they ask for a copy of your tax return. (This is illegal 95% of the time). While all of this is going on you are, 1) inconvenienced, 2) dealing with your job, 3) dealing with your family life, and 4) dealing with the loss which is the reason you are making the claim in the first place.

o Unnecessary Time and Expenses - You are spending time on the phone and doing the things the insurance adjuster has requested, spending money on postage, sometimes including certified mail, and spending time and effort obtaining records and copies. Needless to say, you are getting sick and tired of this process. Worse, you know you are being screwed around with, but you do not want to take the time or spend the money to talk with an attorney about this for fear of driving up the total costs involved. So, you give up. When you give up, the insurance company has won.

The Basic Principle
You will be well-served to remember this basic principle: The business of insurance is a bet. Insurance is nothing more than a large company with a larger balance sheet playing the odds against you...on your health, risk of an accident, storm damage, theft, death or other potentially catastrophic loss. Insurance companies educate themselves in extreme detail on the odds of actually having to pay on a claim. From this data, they can calculate how much they can charge you based on the eventually that some claims will be made, and still make a profit.

When they pay a claim, they have lost their bet. They do not like losing their bet. It all boils down to money. They don't want to lose their bet on insurance!

There are laws regulating how insurance companies handle claims. The Humphreys Law Firm is familiar with these laws and handle these types of situations against insurance companies on a daily basis. It costs nothing to talk to with them and in most cases payment of fees waits until the case is resolved and the insurance company is required to pay legal fees or reimburse you for anything paid up front.

How to Beat The Insurance Company Strategy
There are ways to beat the 3-Ds strategy and all of its tactics and permutations. When your claim is denied or if you're being stonewalled... here are 5 things to do immediately:

1. Document everything. Write down the details of conversations, keep letters from the company, copies of forms you've filled out. All with the dates and the names of people you spoke with.

2. Recall the details. Think back to the start of the claim - an accident, property damage, death, injury...whatever the cause of your loss. Write down all the information about it that you can remember.

3. Get all the official records...your policy, reports, statements, forms, explanations of benefits. Make copies if necessary.

4. Continue doing what's needed to repair the damage. If you're supposed to be getting medical treatment or repairs on a car or property, continue doing so.

5. Contact an insurance attorney. Actually, this should be the first step you take, and he'll tell you to do the other four. Listen to what he says and follow his instructions.

Regardless how large or strong your opponent is, you can win with this proof...and with an experienced insurance lawyer who is willing to fight it out.

How to Make a Computer Run Faster

Computers will get slower in time, and work will be increasingly frustrating and annoying as the PC's speed can prevent you from being able to do various things, like playing games, browsing the web or watching movies. This phenomenon of "PC slowdown" affects basically every computer - but it can easily be solved.

All Windows based computers basically run in the same way, and they all suffer from this problem, some sooner, some later. The main cause why your PC is running slower than it's supposed to be is a part of your PC called registry. The registry is a big database, and it plays a central role in how your computer stores and access program related data. The registry stores data of all kind, data belonging to your latest game, your word processor or your screen savers.

The main cause why the registry is making your computer slower is that it grows with each new installation of an application. More and more data is added to this database every day. Your computer is constantly accessing this data, invisible for you in the background. The registry database becomes larger every day. With the deleting and adding of new games or applications it will happen that some of the information in it can be corrupt and damaged - your PC takes needs more and more time to go through the registry due to its size, slowing all your work down in return.

This is one of the main reasons why computers get slower with age - but there is an easy solution.

How can I make a computer run faster?

You need to be able to clean out and repair all the damaged and corrupt files that are slowing it down. You simply need to use a piece of software known as 'registry cleaner'. A registry cleaner will not only clean the registry from old and damaged entries, it can also repair the faulty data in the registry and it can delete those files on your PC which are the main cause for it to run slower.

  • Age is one important factor that comes into consideration while determining the right policy. Companies offer higher premiums to young drivers due to the high probability of accidents amongst youth drivers.
  • The performance and power of the car is also very crucial. For high performance cars, you might have to shell out more.
  • Money. If you are tight on money you can opt for third party insurance. If you want to get fully insured, you may opt for Comprehensive insurance which gives full compensation if your car is stolen, damaged or set on fire. The third party insurance, on the other hand, only covers damage to third party driver or third party's property. Hence, it is cheaper. There is an additional option, Third party Fire and Theft. This covers the third party risks plus theft and damage to your motor caused by attempted theft and fire.
  • Another insignificant or optional factor would be the area or post code you stay..

Steve McNair's wife was unaware of affair with Sahel Kazemi until husband's death

into the early-morning hours of Saturday and then returned to the downtown condo he shared with a pal.

Although neighbors have not reported hearing gunshots, cops believe McNair and Kazemi died about 2 a.m., nearly 12 hours before their bodies were found.

There was no sign of forced entry at the condo, and investigators are checking whether the couple had been having a "lovers' quarrel," cops said.

It was not immediately known whom the pistol belonged to, although McNair did have a permit to carry a gun, police said.

Kazemi, who was raised by an aunt in Florida after her parents were killed in Iran, moved to Nashville with her ex-boyfriend, Keith Norfleet.

Norfleet, whom investigators want to interview, had a "volatile" relationship with Kazemi but was trying to win her back from McNair, Norfleet's stepmother said.

"They had a lot of jealousy in their relationship and they'd fight and break up a lot," said Trudie Norfleet. "He loved her. ... He's awful torn up about it."

The quarterback, renowned in Nashville for his extensive work in the community, rented the condo overlooking the Titans stadium with sporting goods dealer Wayne Neeley, who called McNair's best friend after seeing the bodies sprawled on a couch.

"It's a picture I'll never get out of my head," a weeping Robert Gaddy told the Daily News. "It's the most terrible sight I've ever seen."

"This was a great man, a man who'd do anything for you," said Gaddy, who had been friends with the Heisman finalist since meeting him at Alcorn State University.

Are You Ready For the New Windows 7?

Windows 7 is the new upcoming version of the Microsoft Windows operating systems. People are looking forward to having this version of Windows because Windows Vista didn't live up to its name, it was buggy and had some problems. Most reliable Microsoft Windows to this day is Windows XP. Windows 7 was codenamed Blackcomb and Vienna when it was in preparation.

Unlike Windows Vista that has a great layout and visual quality, Windows 7 will be more compatible, it will support all previous software that worked on past versions of Windows and it will be an a lot faster and better operating system.

Windows 7 will bring some major updates to some Windows features. For example advances in handwriting recognition, better performance with multi-core processors, kernel upgrades, support for virtual hard drives, better boot performance, etc. Many new features will be added to the control panel, so you will be able to customize your operating system even more then you could before. The taskbar will be changed to, the quick launch icon has been removed and replaced with pinning programs and applications to the taskbar. The new task bar is easier and more practical, but maybe you will need some time to get used to it. The new layout has some practical features and it can make some of your Windows transparent just by dragging your mouse over the icon, which can be really helpful in some situations.

Microsoft has published information on minimum system requirements needed to use Windows 7. Microsoft has released an application that works as an advisor, it scans your computer to see if it is compatible for Windows 7.

For 32 bit system minimum system requirements for Windows 7 are following: 1 GB of RAM, Processor should be minimum 1 GHz, graphic card should support direct x 9 and it should have at least 128 MB of graphics memory, it requires 16 GB of hard disk space. For 64 bit things are different: At least 2 GB of RAM, processor 1 GHz, Graphic card that supports direct x 9 with 128 MB of graphics memory and at least 20 GB of free hard disk space is required for installation.

Some features that Windows Vista had are removed in order to maximize the performance. Your computer should work really fine when using Windows 7 because the main goal when making Windows 7 was to fix the previous problems and make it stable and reliable. Layout for Windows 7 looks great and it looks like they have really paid attention to making it functional and user friendly rather than putting make up on something that doesn't work but looks nice. This is the idea most people had that used Vista.

Your computer will certainly work great when using Windows 7 if it has the minimum system requirements, but it is always better to have computer that does not only mach minimum operating requirements but is even better configured. Windows 7 will run smoothly even on computers that are outdated, it is only needed to have requirements earlier mentioned in the text. It looks like Microsoft is finally making something as good as Windows XP, maybe even better.

Get Cheaper International Car Insurance by Raising the Deductible

We all know what international car insurance offers to drivers. You pay the premiums and the insurer covers your damages if you are involved in a wreck abroad. That is common information, but what many individuals do not realize is the effect their deductible has on the premiums they pay monthly, quarterly or annually.

The main thing to learn about international rental-car coverage is that your deductible represents the portion you pay from your own money, for damages to your rented vehicle. If the deductible is $500 then you will pay up to that much before the insurance company kicks in to handle the remaining balance, provided you purchased the correct coverage for that particular car accident. The higher your deductible, the less likely it is that your insurance provider will end up having to pay out. So, the higher your deductible, the lower your premiums should end up being.

Before you make the choice to select a higher deductible on your overseas car insurance, you will need to be sure you can pay the total with either cash on hand or savings once you are driving in the country you are visiting. A deductible that is too high and you cannot actually afford to pay does you no good even if you have very cheap premium costs. It boils down to checking your own means against your realistic risks. Then you weigh that against what you can afford to pay on your own.

Using the web to choose the perfect international car insurance policy for your needs will pay off so why not get started on-line today?

Job Description and Car Insurance

One of the proudest moments of my early years as an actor was purchasing my first car, an old Renault Six. A couple of weeks after passing my test I walked into the AA office in central London to arrange some proper insurance cover. A few forms to fill out, a hastily written cheque, and the world would be my oyster.

I didn't know how hard it was going to be. Everybody likes talking to actors, but when it comes to providing us with mortgages, bank loans or motor insurance we are somewhere between stunt men and serial killers in the list of desirable clients. The popular perception is that we are reckless, hard-drinking hell-raisers who think nothing of getting behind the wheel after an all-night bender of booze and drugs, usually with some international celebrity in the passenger seat whose insurance claim if they go through the windscreen will bankrupt the entire western economy.

Of course I didn't know this when I breezed up to the counter. I anticipated merely having to answer a couple of simple questions. Indeed, for the first few minutes all went smoothly. Type of car, size of engine, third party or fully comprehensive, will the vehicle be garaged or parked on the street; I already felt the young man behind the desk was becoming a good friend. Then we got to the item marked "occupation".

"Actor," I said, anticipating a delighted smile and a few requests for theatrical tittle-tattle. "Aah," he replied. He wasn't smiling. In fact he was looking anxiously at his notes. "I'm afraid I'll have to refer this to head office. Just a moment," He picked up a nearby phone and waited for a supervisor to respond.

During the following 30 minutes the youth behind the desk was given a series of subsidiary questions to ask down the phone by the supervisor, each of which had to be relayed to me, with my answer relayed back down the wires to the supervisor. "Are you in the theatre or on television?" I replied theatre, omitting the fact that this was through necessity rather than choice. Hopefully that would be the end of it.

"What was your last role?" - "The part of Hickory Wood in One For the Pot," I replied, through gritted teeth. What the hell had this to do with my driving ability? The relaying of this answer seemed to wrong-foot the supervisor. I was asked to spell the word Hickory, and a further minute passed while whoever was on the end of the phone wrote it all down.

"Would you describe it as a lead role or a small role?" - "Is this really necessary?" I snapped. The youth stared blankly at me and assured me it was. I told him that as I had 51 separate entrances in the play, it could be safely counted as a main part. After a few seconds of whispered conversation, he looked up at me again. "Er... could you give some idea of what you had to do in it?" My temper snapped. "I had to lift up a Scotsman's kilt and squirt the contents of a soda siphon up it," I rasped. "Are you going to give me some car insurance?"

"I'm sorry sir, I'm just following company rules," replied the youth. He turned away again to communicate to his supervisor the single funniest moment of the play. I hoped the supervisor wasn't from Glasgow. At length he spoke again. His brow was covered with a thin film of sweat.

"Would you describe it as a drama or a comedy?" - "It's a bloody farce," I roared, "and so is this." I marched out of the office.

Three days later I returned. This time I was wearing a jacket, shirt and tie and corduroy trousers. A different employee was on duty. It was time to back my hunch. "I'd like to arrange some car insurance please," I beamed. Ten questions later I gave my occupation as drama teacher. Five after that I was back in the street with a year's fully comp in my hot little hand; the word teacher had done the trick.

Insurances are a very necessary part of life. Car Insurance protects us should accidents happen on the roads and Life Insurance is there to protect our families should we unfortunately die..

Employee shot, wounded at Virginia Apple store

Update at 11:25 a.m. PDT July 4: Police have released two surveillance tapes on YouTube of the suspect entering the store and of the suspect fleeing the scene.

An employee at an Apple store near Washington D.C. was shot and wounded Friday morning, police have confirmed. The victim, a 26-year-old woman, is currently at an area hospital recovering from a wound to the right shoulder. She is said to be in serious but stable condition.

Police say the shooting occurred about 10:15 a.m. EDT at the Arlington, Va., Apple store at 2700 Clarendon Blvd., in a busy, upscale shopping area. Some media outlets are calling the incident an attempted robbery, but Detective Crystal Nosal of the Arlington Police Department told CNET News it's "still too early to tell." The victim, Nosal said, "is obviously under medication in the hospital so interviewing is difficult."

Someone rang a doorbell at a back service entrance of the store, according to police. A short time later, another employee heard a gunshot.

Police say customers were present in the store at the time of the shooting, and employees helped them exit. No other people were injured.

Mike Evans, a software developer, was shopping for a new laptop at the time of the shooting and told The Washington Post at least a dozen employees and about 30 customers were inside when he heard what he thought was "boxes falling."

"It never crossed my mind that there would be a shooting there, in Clarendon," Evans told the newspaper. "An employee went to the back room and then we heard a woman's scream. I didn't wait to find out what happened."

Police are describing the suspect as a black male between 35 and 45, with a medium build and facial hair. He was wearing light-colored pants, a light-colored short sleeve shirt, and a dark baseball hat. He was carrying a handgun.

Police say the incident does not appear to be related to any other crimes in the area.

"We are shocked by this senseless act of violence and our thoughts are with this co-worker and her family," Steve Dowling, a spokesman for Apple's corporate headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., told the The Washington Post. "We're working with police to catch the person who committed this act."
